Hollow Glass Microspheres in PVC
Hollow glass microspheres are premium spherical inorganic lightweight fillers widely used in PVC formulations, including rigid PVC profiles, pipes, sheets, flexible PVC plastisols, artificial leather and cable insulation sheaths. Made of borosilicate glass with closed hollow structure, they feature low density, uniform particle size, low oil absorption and stable chemical resistance, which make them highly compatible with PVC resin during extrusion, injection molding and calendering processes.
When blended into PVC compounds, these microspheres bring multiple core advantages. First, they greatly reduce the overall density of finished PVC parts, realizing lightweight design without sacrificing rigidity. They improve dimensional stability, lower shrinkage and warping, and lift heat resistance of PVC products. Their low oil absorption allows high loading dosage, cutting the consumption of PVC resin and plasticizer, and helping manufacturers control raw material costs. Besides, the hollow structure delivers good thermal insulation and sound insulation performance, ideal for noise-reducing drainage pipes and thermal insulation profiles.
Our hollow glass microspheres maintain good crush strength to avoid breaking under high shear mixing. They disperse evenly in PVC matrix, do not interfere with pigment and stabilizer systems, and keep smooth surface finish of final goods. They are acid and alkali resistant, non-combustible and electrically insulating, suitable for construction, automotive, wire and cable, decorative artificial leather and other PVC end markets. We provide multiple grades with different density, particle size and crush strength for customized PVC formulas, and support stable bulk supply with strict quality inspection.
