Alumina hollow balls – insulation materials that can be made into products of various shapes

Alumina hollow balls are a new type of high-temperature insulation material. They are made by melting and blowing industrial alumina in an electric furnace. The crystal form is a-Al2O3 microcrystals. With alumina hollow balls as the main body, various shapes of products can be made. The maximum use temperature is 1800℃. The mechanical strength of the products is high, which is several times that of general lightweight products, and the volume density is only half of that of corundum products.

Production method:
Alumina hollow balls are hollow spherical lightweight insulation refractory materials that are blown after high-temperature melting in an electric arc furnace.

Classification:
Alumina hollow balls are of two types: mixed-grade balls and graded balls: the particle size of mixed-grade balls is 0.2-5mm, and the particle sizes of graded balls are 0.2-1mm, 1-2mm, 2-3mm, and 3-5mm respectively.

Features:
‌Lightweight and high strength: The interior of the alumina hollow sphere is a hollow structure with low density and excellent strength and rigidity, and can withstand certain pressure and impact.
‌High porosity: It has a high porosity, making it an ideal material choice in many fields.
‌Acid and alkali resistance: It has high chemical stability and is not easily corroded by chemical corrosion and corrosive gases.
‌High temperature resistance: It can withstand temperatures up to 1750℃ and has good stability and oxidation resistance.
‌Low thermal conductivity: The presence of the internal cavity makes its thermal conductivity relatively low, which helps to insulate and heat preservation.
‌Good sound absorption performance: The internal hollow structure gives it a high sound absorption capacity, reducing the reflection and propagation of sound waves.
‌Easy to process: It can be formed and processed by injection molding, hot pressing, etc. to produce products of different shapes and sizes. ‌

Application fields:
Alumina hollow balls are widely used in many fields, including:
‌Petrochemical industry‌: gasification furnace
‌Carbon black industry‌: reaction furnace
‌Metallurgical industry‌: induction furnace and other high temperature and ultra-high temperature kilns
